Partner program

Are you “along for the ride”? The friends program is perfect for friends of sports or cultural participants who are not competing in an event.

Each active participant in Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 may designate one person to take part in this program. Friends of the participants have a reserved seat at the opening ceremonies, may enter the stadium with the athletes or cultural participants – which is normally reserved only for registered sports and culture participants – and will receive a participation medal, welcome package, and free public transportation for the week in Cologne.

Friends register normally and pay the basic registration fee.

Here’s how it works:

• The active participant must register first, specifying the sports or cultural events in which he or she plans to participate. Upon completing registration, he or she receives a Partner ID number the partner can use to register for the Fans & Friends program.
• The partner subsequently can then register as an individual, specifying the Partner ID number. This is the only way that someone who is not competing can be an official part of Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 – unless he or she registers as an active participant in a sports or cultural event.
