Right now you are able to register online for the once-in-a-lifetime event that is the VIII. Gay Games Cologne 2010! We recommend registering early! Many sports have limited capacity, and available spots will fill up quickly.
Here’s how to register:
Before you start the registration process, please visit our website to find all the information you need for your sport or cultural event. That way, you can answer all questions on the registration form without any problems. Please read the following pieces of advice regarding the registration process:
1. First you need to fill in all of your personal information. Watch out for spelling errors and missing information! We also need your permanent e-mail address for registration. You will not be able to change your e-mail address after registering. Because of this, make sure you provide an address that will not change between now and Gay Games 2010. You can create a free e-mail address online at sites such as www.gmail.com, mail.live.com, or www.yahoo.com.
You also have the possibility to upload a passport sized photo of yourself. This photo will be used for your accreditation badge. You can add your photo later, or change it if you choose.
Please remember, all fields marked with a star (*) must be completed.
2. Shortly after you have filled in all required information and clicked "send", you will receive an e-mail from us. This e-mail will be sent to the address you entered in step 1. This e-mail will contain your password for access to our system and to continue the registration process.
3. After a few general questions (answering them is optional), your can begin registration for your sport or cultural event.
4. If you have chosen to register for a "team" (i.e. sports team such as Basketball, pairs events in DanceSport, cultural group such as Chorus), you have a number of options:
- If you do not have a partner, team, or cultural group, choose the option "I have no specific team but would like to participate" and we'll try to help you find one.
- Are you the first in your team to register? You need to "Create a new team". When you create a new team, you will need to provide some information, including your team name, which can be chosen freely. For pairs events, you may use your name and that of your partner as the team name. Once a name has been chosen, a team code will be e-mailed to you. Additional team members use this code to register for your team. You must pay for your own registration before this code becomes valid for other members of your team to register.
If you know all their personal information, including their e-mail addresses, your can register other team members yourself. Please keep in mind that each team member must have a distinct individual e-mail address. Starting numbers will be secured once payment has been received. - If another member of your team has created your team registration, he or she will provide you with your team code.
If you are registering for an individual sport or singles competition, a team code is not required.
5. When you have finished with the registration process, it's time to pay. Before the payment screen, you'll see an overview of your registration. You can check here for errors! You can pay your registration fees by credit card (Mastercard/Visa) or bank transfer (preferred method within the European Union).
6. Once you have successfully completed the payment process, you will receive another e-mail from us. This e-mail will contain all information and conditions regarding your registration as well as an invoice for your registration.
| It is important that you contact your bank or credit card issuer first when paying by credit card. Some banks in the US and other nations will not accept a bank transfer into foreign countries. Otherwise there will be problems during the payment process! To register: 1. Log on to the website http://www.games-cologne.de/en/take-part/registration and click 'Register here'. 2. Enter your email address/username and password (if necessary ask for a new password, you will receive it immediately via email). 3. Go through the registration process and choose your sport or cultural event. 4. You will see the registration fee you have to pay on the button right side. Click 'Check Out' on this page. 5. Click the check box (at bottom left) again to accept the policies on the Registration Conditions page, then click Check Out. 6. If you have a voucher code: When the basket page appears, enter the code then click the button 'Cash your voucher'. 7. Then click 'Pay Via Credit Card' and enter your credit card information and press the 'continue' button. 8. Once the process is completed you will receive the Congratulations message on your computer screen as well as a confirmation by email. |
By the way, you can interrupt the registration process at any time and come back to it later. Also, once your registration fees have been paid, you can sign-up for more competitions.
