VIII. Gay Games Cologne 2010

WomenPride is a unique world event. As a regular part of ColognePride, it is an invitation to experience non stop ‘womenpower’. Following the original three day weekend in 2005, WomenPride immediately grew into a two week festival. Now in its fourth year, WomenPride again offers women of all walks of life the opportunity to experience a wide range of events such as readings, concerts, parties and cinema nights. There has been no better time to explore Cologne’s diverse lesbian scene.

The highly entertaining “WomenPride meets WomenPleasure Party” kicks off the festival in spectacular style. Along with numerous established local performers from the lesbian scene, the female audience is also treated to many international artists. Group specific events, along with information and topics for discussion are to be found at many information centres and contact points around the city. The comprehensive programme for women has contributed to give ColognePride a multifaceted female touch. It is particularly pleasant that the international female audience continues to grow.

Even beyond WomenPride, the range of lesbian events in Cologne is expanding rapidly. Associations and groups of all kinds are becoming an established and attractive part of the scene. It is now unimaginable that female teams are not represented in the field of sports and competitive dancing. On a cultural level, Cologne’s Female Historical Association provides information on special guided city tours. Lesbian entertainers and comedians regularly perform in cabarets, dazzling audiences with their personalities and joie de vivre.

From restaurant to disco, women can meet other like minded women when exploring Cologne’s night life. For once, women power becomes a guaranteed adventure.
