Description
The people of Cologne have a very special relationship to the past and preserving memories. The interest we have for each other during our lifetimes, continues after life. This cemetery walking-tour is an experience of city history, art history, personal history, simply commemorative history. While crossing the cemetery the attention will again and again be drawn to Cologne’s gay-lesbian history. Discover some surprises at the park-like Melaten cemetery, which was dedicated as such in 1810 and has since been preserving a large piece of history for Cologne’s people.
