Lesbians and gays in the sports
A travelling exhibition about discrimination, angst and chances
There are lesbians and gays in all disciplines. But only a few athletes dare to admit openly to their homosexuality. They do fear discrimination. This travelling exhibition invites you to get a closer look at the taboo subject “homosexuality in sports”.
Discover exciting stories about outings, double life and tragic fates of well known athletes who have to fight with their openly announced homosexuality.
Billboards in German and English tell their stories.
Besides, at the travelling exhibition “Against all rules” more of the history and development of the Gay Games will be shown. The history of the Gay Games can be experienced through video-clips, medals, clothes and other souvenirs. Among them the “Tom Waddell Jacket”, that famous jacket, this was carried by the founder of the Gay Games in 1968, during the decathlon.
Who wants to get information about top sports persons with or without coming-out, this exhibition is the right place to go.
Who likes to learn how the lesbian and gay sports movement arose due to exclusion and discrimination will find the information here.
