The collective term track-and-field combines the various running, jumping and throwing disciplines. We are expecting about 800 athletes for these events.
Organizing the various events is one of the most complex tasks at the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010. A total of 26 events, from 100m sprint, javelin throw, all the way to the heptathlon and decathlon, will be held in various age groups. Each athlete can participate in multiple disciplines, as long as there are no time conflicts with the events.
The venue for all track-and-field events is the Leichtathletikstadion at the Müngersdorf Sportpark. The necessary throwing equipment and batons will be provided.
