Table Tennis was invented in England 100 years ago, and is now China's national sport number one. A popular leisure activity, it is also a fast-moving high-level competitive sport, and is sure to be one of the more popular sports at Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010.
We are expecting about 200 athletes at the Table Tennis competition at Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010. Matches will take place at the Sportspark Muengersdorf, the main sports hub for Gay Games VIII.
Apart from the three competition divisions in which tournament experience is required, there are also a Hobby and Masters Division. Beginners without tournament experience play in the Hobby Category. Women's doubles, Men's doubles, and Mixed doubles will be offered, along with team play, in which four-to-six women and men will play four singles and one doubles match.
