Even after the 2010 FIFA World Cup draws to a close, football fever will certainly not be dying down in Cologne. Around three weeks after South Africa, participants in divisions 1 and 2 of the men’s and women’s football tournament at the Gay Games will not just be fighting for victory in their own league, but will be battling it out for the title of International Gay and Lesbian Football Association (IGLFA) World Champion.
Ten years after the highly successful gay and lesbian football world cup took place in Cologne at the start of the Millennium, it gives us great pleasure to host the event once again in 2010. Back in 2000, around 800 sportsmen and women, organised in same-sex teams, played for the title of world champion. With the 2010 event, Cologne will join the ranks of Washington DC, London, and San Francisco for the second time as host city for the IGLFA championship.
All details regarding the competitions, as well as registration and cost, can be found at www.games-cologne.de.
