Competition Field Hockey

Dates of Event
Tuesday, 3 August - Friday, 6 August 2010
Warm-up for the tournament will be a Pinkhockey "Meet & Greet" at Tuesday night. Before the tournament starts on Wednesday, a general briefing will be held for all team captains and referees.

Venue
Landesleistungszentrum, Salzburger Weg, 50858 Cologne (6.6 km. from Neumarkt) near Sportpark Muengersdorf. Artificial surface

Transportation
Take tram 1 (direction Junkersdorf/Weiden) to station "RheinEnergieStadion" or "Junkersdorf" (15 mins. from Neumarkt, then 10 mins. on foot)

Categories and Divisions of Participation
Separate tournaments for men and women in one performance category. Men competition will be played full size pitch and women will play 7 a side on half size.
Preliminary and final rounds will be played. Preliminary rounds in a group format, semi-final and final rounds in knock-out system. All placing games will be played.

Participation
Hockey players, regardless of ability, may compete. Teams must have a minimum of 13 (woman comp. 8) players and a maximum of 15.

Rules of Play
The field hockey tournaments will be played according to the rules of the International Hockey Federation (IHF) www.worldhockey.org and the German Hockey Federation (Deutscher Hockey Bund) www.deutscher-hockey-bund.de.

Equipment
Players must bring their own hockey sticks and goal-keeping equipment. Hockey balls will be provided.

Services
Food service is available at the cafeterias and cafés at Sportpark Muengersdorf.

First-Aid
First-aid stations and paramedics will be available

Tickets
Entrance to tournaments is free for all spectators.
