Diving is divided into springboard and high dive. While in springboard the athletes dive off a 1m or 3m springboard, the high dive is performed off a 10m platform.

High diving is a succession of artistic gymnastics movement while free falling toward the water surface. When executed correctly, the daring divers present amazing sights full of elegance and grace. Artistic impression and technical precision in the execution of somersaults and twists receive a mark which ultimately decides the standings in the competition.

Women and men are judged separately in this event.
