VIII. Gay Games Cologne 2010

Since Thursday, 12 pm the accreditation of the more than 10.000 participants of the sports and cultural events of the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 started at the Trade Fair Halls in Deutz (Cologne Trade Fair, Messeplatz 1, 50679 Koeln, entrance West).

Numerous volunteers in their loud orange T-Shirts are well prepared and are receiving the arriving participants with a bright smile. Participants from more than 70 nations come to Cologne, some travelling for days, like teams from Australia or South Africa. They all have the excited anticipation written on their face. Printers hum, medals jingle, vuvuzelas sound, people are singing and are hugging. All are very happy that it finally is going to start and are looking forward to a week with exciting competitions, breathtaking shows and boisterous encounters. Goose bumps for the big opening ceremony at the RheinEnergieStadium on Saturday evening are guaranteed.

During the accreditation, there will be a welcome pack for everyone, the participants ID and a participant’s medal. Those who still need information about competitions,/appearances or tickets for one of the many parties and cultural events will get competent help here.

After the successful accreditation, there are no obstacles to explore the city. Here, thousands of participants are strolling and exploring the well-rounded offerings of the scene in Cologne. Many bars and shops provide special offers during the Gay Games Cologne for the international guests.
