Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010: Diversity Brought to Bear
It was a major party: on 22 November 2008 thousands of men came together in Cologne for Bear Pride. Naturally, Gay Games VIII supporters were among the enthusiastic participants. After all, the Gay Games are created for everybody - gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, straight, bear and non-bear alike. Head of marketing for Games Cologne Jochen Faerber was met with cheers as he showed off a poster with the word "Baerenstark", or "bear strength". It shows a competition that took place as part of the Gay Games VII Chicago 2006, and is being used here in Cologne for advertising purposes. The Cologne Gay Games team is currently enquiring as to whether these posters, which seem to have gone down well with the public, may be made available in the online shop.
