We are looking for the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 Song
Gay Games VIII is looking for the official theme song! Songwriters from all over the world are invited to contribute. Win a chance to have your work represent the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 to the world!
An internal board of experts will choose the top five of all the compositions submitted for a grand finale. A live event will be held to select the winner by a panel of celebrities both from the field of culture and from the gay and lesbian community.
This official theme song will then be recorded prior to the Gay Games VIII and published on CD and in online stores. It will also be used to advertise the Gay Games VIII.

The organisers are looking for a catchy English ballad (4/4 time). The musical and lyrical quality of the song should be extraordinary without any gender specification. It should highlight the spirit of the Gay Games with respect to sports and community. The motto of the Gay Games: “be part of it” should be incorporated, not necessarily in those words but definitely in the message of the lyrics.
Be part of it by writing the Cologne 2010 theme song. Please note that only two songs can be submitted per author. Writers who submit more than two entries will be disqualified.

If your submission is selected as the theme song for he Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010, you must accept the liability to sign a contract with games cologne gGmbH to grant the rights of the song. You must be the sole owner of all rights to the song, and it must be made available for copyright by games cologne gGmbH.
The author accepts that the selected theme song will be used for the entire advertising campaign as well as media coverage before and after the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 without payment (apart from GEMA license). This also includes the right of games cologne gGmbH to record and reproduce the song in any way as well as to market it without any payment (apart from GEMA license). The author also explicitly renounces his/her right to the production rights for movies and DVDs.
In addition to this all the participating authors agree to the publishing of their songs on the website www.games-cologne.de / www.games-cologne.com as stream for the selection process, and accept that no payment will be made for this.
