Sign this year's Memorial Quilt inside the Spanish architecture of the city hall until Sunday
Somewhat hidden you find hanging in the sheltered inner courtyard of colognes city hall the Memorial Quilts of the Gay Games from among others Amsterdam and San Francisco. From the outside, nothing indicates that here can be signed the perhaps most important memento from the Gay Games Cologne. Nonetheless numerous participants, visitors or friends of the Games did find the way hither. On the ground in front of the quilt, or besides it, pens are provided with which you can sign on the fabric. Colognes lord mayor Jürgen Roters did sign it already, and numerous visitors remember with their signature and a few caring words their deceased friends.
Tony Waddell, founder of the Gay Games, initiated in 1997 the International Games-Memorial Quilt Project. The memorial fabrics are symbol for eternity and strength of homosexuals and transgender alike worldwide. In Cologne Aidshilfe is involved in the exhibition. Until Sunday Visitors have the possibility to sign the Memorial Quilt for Cologne.
